It’s Aquila’s War Weekend!

We’re back! Despite the longer than usual wait, Mhysra, Lyrai, Mouse & Co are back and raring to go. Time to kick things off with updates across the weekend!

Aquila's War Cover 1But first, a few quick things before we begin.

  • The Storm Wings ebook is released on Sunday, but you can pre-order it now.
  • I’m removing the rest of Storm Wings from here today, but you have until tomorrow morning if you’re reading on Wattpad.
  • As with the rest of this series (apart from Wingborn) Aquila’s War will only be free for a limited time. I won’t be taking it down until after the end, though, I promise.
  • Spoiler warning! If you haven’t read Rift Riders, Dragongift or Storm Wings everything about this book will spoil you, so be careful before clicking on any cuts. The blurb lies below this one.
  • Usual update schedule of Fridays and Sundays begins next week. However, if you’d like to read more now, my Patreon readers get early access and are a month ahead.

And with that out of the way, welcome to the fifth Wingborn book!

September Catch Up

Where did September go? What happened? I had all these beautiful plans laid out, the next thing I know I have one week left and no book… Meep.

Anyway, here’s a brief list of what I’m babbling about today:

  • There’s only one week left to read Storm Wings for free.
  • There’s just over one week left to pre-order Storm Wings for .99 on Amazon.
  • Aquila’s War is coming!
  • If you can’t wait, you can read the Prologue and Chapter One now on Patreon.
  • Cloud Cursed is going up in price next week.
  • I have a new puppy!

More in-depth below.

Spring Forth!

A little later than planned, spring is finally springing up all around me, and I’ve at last compiled the first three Wingborn books into one handy box set! Which I’ve rather snappily titled Wingborn Series Volume 1: Wingborn, Rift Riders and Dragongift.

Wingborn Boxset 2If you haven’t bought them yet, or you just prefer to have them all rounded up in one easy to find file, then this is for you, my friend.

It’s available at – or soon will be – all the usual places, and there’s a bit of a discount on the individual list prices, so hopefully someone will find it a bargain.

Smashwords || B&N || iBooks || Kobo
Amazon: US || UK || AUS || CAN || DE

I’ve also updated the individual books. Mostly typo-catching and tidying up a few mistakes here and there. Like the massive mistake I’d been writing with for years and hadn’t even noticed – that Half-Year wasn’t actually at the half year point because I had my months mixed up *headdesk* But I’ve fixed it now and the year ends a month later than it used to. Possibly no one would ever have noticed, but I did and it’s been bugging me ever since.

The uploads went nice and smooth until the last one, when I really should have remembered that uploading anything to Smashwords is usually best done in the morning. Otherwise it seems to take ages and weird little errors creep in here and there for no apparent reason. Particularly in Rift Riders. I don’t know what it is with that book, but by the time I called it a night, I was pretty much sobbing like Gollum.

Gollum I hate you gifAnd when I checked my email a little later to find that it had already started shipping to all the other non-Smashwords sites in the fastest approval I’ve ever had… let’s just say I wasn’t exactly gleeful.

Thankfully it was a pretty easy fix, so no hobbits needed to be harmed. This time.

Anyway that’s another thing ticked off the list. Next up will be finishing the Wingborn Aftermath novella, then a return to the Dragonlands to write book 4, edit 1-3, relaunch the series and release book 3. I’m also getting vague ideas for a foundation of Aquila tale, but I think I already have enough on my plate so it might have to stay vague a little while longer. It might also be nice to write something away from the Overworld for a change.

Plus there are dogs to walk, cats to cuddle, orchids to rescue, gardens to revive and the usual mix of real life worries and dramas to deal with. Which means life is pretty much continuing as usual really.

I hope that, wherever you are in the world, life is treating you kindly and the seasons are turning in expected and manageable ways. Have a good weekend, everyone!

Storm Rising Price Rise

This will be the last time I talk about this for a while, I promise. But!

Storm Rising 5 A quick and final reminder that the price is going up today from 0.99 to 2.99 (£1.99 GBP/AU$3.99). It will take a little while for it to filter through all the various retailers, so you can probably still grab it at the lower price if you’re quick.

Storm Rising 5

It’s finally coming!

Trouble stirs in the Dragonlands and Elder Khennik kin Blazeborn seems trapped at the very heart of it. After a disastrous stay with the Stormdrake kin, it’s time for the human delegation to visit the Skystorm Clan, yet their welcome is less friendly than anticipated.

Whispers and accusations fly, but something is definitely not right inside the Clan. And with the Dragon Moot fast approaching, can the Rift Riders and dragons sort things out swiftly enough to save the Khennik from another catastrophe?

The Cloud Curse is changing – but is anyone willing to listen to reason? Or will politics and arrogance combine to bring down all the kins and Clans for good?

September 6th 2017

I’m working on pre-order links right now. More info to come when I get them. And it’ll be on offer too, so if you’ve been waiting, watch this general direction for links, the first few chapters and all the important information.

But mostly, yay, it’s finally on it’s way. Only a week to go!

Overworld, Updates

No Dragongift this week

So sorry, everyone, but as I feared I haven’t had time to edit the next batch of Dragongift. Which was why there was no post yesterday and there won’t be one tomorrow. My home is currently all upside down and sideways, covered in dust and appears to have been invaded by grey alien squid poking through the walls and down through the ceilings… either that or the electrics haven’t been finished yet.

If it is indeed the latter, then hopefully they should be done by the middle of next week and I can offer up double posts next weekend as penance.

If it’s the former… it was nice knowing you all and maybe one day I will return with tales of the further reaches of outer space.

Every cloud, eh?

In the meantime, I hope you’re all enjoying your weekends wheresoever in the world you may be.

Take care, my lovelies!

Firstly, as of last night, all the Elsa N. Neuman stolen books have been removed from Amazon. Thank goodness.

Thank you to everyone who warned me and the other affected authors or left 1* reviews warning other people away. You are awesome.

From the bit of digging I did myself, checking where some of the other books came from, it looks like they were all freebies taken from Smashwords, given new titles and covers and put into the Kindle Unlimited program. While this is unnerving and unfortunate, I’ll still keep putting free books out into the world for people to enjoy. However, if you ever see anything that looks or sounds like it might be mine, please let me know.

Thanks, everyone!

Secondly, Rift Riders is OUT NOW as an ebook. I’ll do a proper release post with all the links once it clears the Smashwords system and goes out to other outlets.

For now you can get it from:

Amazon (|| US || UK || AUS || CAN || and everywhere else)
and Smashwords

for the currently reduced price of .99 (which is as low as I can make it). Grab it while you can, because a week after it goes live everywhere it will be going up to 2.99.

Finally, this is your last day to read the Rift serial for free!

I will be removing it tomorrow (March 15th). No arguments. It comes down.

And this weekend Dragongift will begin. I will also be updating Courtship tomorrow as usual.

I hope you’ll be joining me. There’s a whole Overworld out there and it needs to be explored.

Merry Sunday…

I just settled down this morning to do a post or two about the fact I released Rift Riders yesterday, when I checked my author email and found out about this pleasant person.

Elsa N. Neuman.

She’s an author on Amazon with ten books to her name, all published in the last month. One of which is When Life Smile Again — which is a bloody stupid title. Also, when I read the blurb, it sounds strangely familiar.

Because it’s my book! Be With Me has been stolen and I’m too tired to get properly ragey about it, but I am pissed.

However, I am now learning how to report copyright infringement to Amazon, so I guess you really do learn something new every day. I also noticed a link to tell Amazon when a book is cheaper elsewhere, so I guess I’ll be using that in a minute because my free baby ‘Mero book is supposed to be a gift, not stolen.

Merry Sunday, everyone.

ETA: Received another email this morning alerting me about this, which means two on the side of good and one on the side of theft. Just need Amazon to hurry up and tip the scales in favour of the good people.

Also, Neuman had ten books up yesterday, this morning there are seven. If, as I suspect, this is because people are complaining, I wish Amazon would hurry up and suspend the account, since it looks like all the books were stolen.
